Are you an engaged nursing assistant who likes to make a difference in people's everyday lives? Then this might be the job for you! The Care and Welfare Administration in Östersund Municipality is now seeking two nursing assistants for home care services in Torvalla.
The unit is located in central Torvalla with good bus connections from Östersund city center. You will become part of a dedicated and experienced team organized into two groups, Torvalla Upper and Torvalla Lower. You will primarily work in one of the teams, but assist the other team when needed. Together, we work to provide safe care with continuity and quality for our citizens.
We value collegial support and collaboration. We have regular joint meetings to follow up on citizens' needs, and you will also have the opportunity for guidance and support in daily work from our coordinators. The positions are full-time, with the possibility of lower employment levels. Working hours include day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Your New Job
As a nursing assistant in home care, you will work with personal care and service in citizens' homes. You will work to promote physical, mental, and social health for the citizens you assist. Your mission is to support the citizen and facilitate daily life. You provide personal care based on individual needs and perform delegated healthcare interventions such as specific care and rehabilitation. You will collaborate with nursing assistants, care workers, district nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, coordinators, and unit managers. Another important part of your tasks is documentation in our operational systems.
Common Work Tasks
• Helping citizens with personal hygiene and basic care
• Supporting with mobility
• Being a primary care contact for citizens
• Medication administration according to medical delegation and prescription
• Preparation of light meals
• Management of various medical devices (e.g., urinary catheter or stoma)
• Simple wound dressing
• Care documentation
• Dishwashing and light cleaning tasks
Your Competence
Requirements
• Nursing assistant education
• Work experience in elderly care
• Good Swedish language skills, both verbal and written
• Class B driver's license
• Ability to cycle
Meritorious
• Experience with delegated care interventions
• Experience as a primary care contact
• Familiar with using phone and computer as work tools
• Experienced with operational systems
