About the Department The Surgery and Orthopedics Department at Kungälv Hospital includes two wards, an outpatient clinic, a day care unit, and a gynecological clinic. We have around 230 employees. The department handles both acute and planned patients in outpatient and inpatient care within surgery, urology, and orthopedics. A significant part of the operations is of an acute nature, but some of the work also involves caring for patients in the end stages of life. Qualifications You who are applying should be a trained nursing assistant with experience from hospital care (previous employment or internship); experience in surgery and/or emergency care is an advantage. If you are a student in a nursing program, you need to have completed semester 3 or semester 4, depending on your educational program. If you are a medical student, you need to have completed semester 5 or semester 6, depending on your educational program. Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of nursing assistant within healthcare and social services.
