About this role

Make a difference. Every day. Come and work with us! Do you want to be challenged and develop within a specialist psychiatric organization where clinical competence and involvement are high? The Adult Psychiatry Unit (VO) in Kristianstad offers specialist psychiatric care in the northeastern and southeastern municipalities of Skåne. We have a wide geographical spread, but despite this, our operations are characterized by proximity and short decision-making paths. Within our inpatient care, we have close collaboration and high flexibility between departments, where we are all here to help and support each other. Below you can read a brief overview of each department: Department 1: High-Intensity Care Unit and Emergency Reception where patients with more extensive care needs are received. Our department consists of 10 care places, and the emergency unit accepts patients from all over northeastern Skåne. Department 3: User-Directed Admissions (BI). Currently, there are 5 care places here, and only nursing assistants/caregivers work in this department. Department 4: General Psychiatric Department with 12 care places. Here we treat patients with psychoses and general psychiatric issues such as affective disorders, personality disorders, anxiety problems, and more. The work environment is highly valued, and the team fosters good camaraderie with humor and direct communication. For us, a safe workplace and good cohesion are important. Within the organization, we are working on various development projects. Employees have a broad competence in various areas such as patient safety, ethics, issues of influence, children of mentally ill patients, and much more that you will learn about if you join us. We are transitioning to the title of nursing assistant and will gradually phase out the title of caregiver across all our psychiatric operations. This work started on November 1, 2023. The change in title will not alter the need for specialist competence in psychiatry. Specialist competence remains very important and will continue to be developed. Within the administration, work has begun to assess what is needed for continued professional development, increased professional knowledge, and development opportunities related to patient work. We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and have applied for/received proof of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We now welcome nursing assistants to strengthen our inpatient care in Departments 1, 3, and 4! In psychiatry, we offer a dynamic and interesting job with opportunities for knowledge development in all areas. As a nursing assistant with us, you will participate in the psychiatric care of our patients and work to ensure high patient safety through close collaboration with both colleagues and patients. Your tasks will include typical responsibilities for nursing assistants in psychiatry, such as support conversations, case management, documentation in the Melior journal system, and responsibility for daily routines. The positions are hourly contracts. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant or specialist nursing assistant in psychiatry. This means you have completed an approved upper secondary care and nursing program (2500 credits), an approved care and nursing program through adult education (minimum 1350 credits), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. You also have basic medical technical skills at the nursing assistant level. Applicants who currently hold a permanent position with the title caregiver can apply and will retain the title upon potential employment (but no longer than until 2033 when the title caregiver will cease within our operations). We prefer that you have experience working as a caregiver and/or nursing assistant. Experience working in psychiatry or with patients with mental health issues is advantageous. Additionally, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our journal system Melior are beneficial. You have a genuine interest in psychiatric care and always put the patient first. Furthermore, you have good prioritization skills and contribute to a positive work environment. It is important for the role to remain calm and have a low-arousal approach in stressful situations; therefore, we are looking for someone who is secure and stable as a person. With a strong sense of service and responsibility, as well as good collaboration skills, you approach the situation of the patient and their relatives with humility. Additionally, you enjoy mentoring students and feel confident in that role. We are keen to find the right individuals and therefore place great importance on personal suitability. Please attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have received it, or your diploma to your application. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant in the meantime. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, or if you wish to retain the title caregiver and were employed in this role before November 1, 2023, please provide documentation to support this. A background check will be conducted before any potential employment. In this recruitment, we apply ongoing selection, and we look forward
