The elderly care services in Umeå municipality aim to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction. Lundagård care and nursing home opened in the autumn of 2019 and is located in Sofiehem, approximately 4 km from Umeå city center, near Norrland University Hospital and Ålidhems Church. We are a collaborative house, which means that other municipal services are also located in the building: a preschool and a kitchen for meal preparation. The approximately 100 children attending the preschool have their outdoor environment adjacent to our residence, and we organize activities together. The kitchen prepares a large number of meals that are distributed to residences and preschools throughout Umeå municipality. Your Responsibilities With a professional approach and a positive attitude, you will assist our residents in their daily lives. The residents' right to participate in decision-making is central, and you will contribute to ensuring that services are delivered with high quality, in accordance with assistance decisions and implementation plans. You will assist with various tasks including care, personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, meals, and other services. Your responsibilities will also include documenting actions and health conditions, as well as performing medical tasks as delegated by the responsible nurse. About You We are looking for a qualified nursing assistant with experience in elderly care. For the night shift, we are particularly interested in candidates with prior experience in night work. It is a plus if you have experience with medication delegation. Your interactions with the residents require strong competencies based on personal suitability, maturity, and empathetic ability. You demonstrate a strong commitment to both the users and the organization in all relationships and actions. You enjoy working independently and are patient and proactive. You have the ability to collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and other professionals. Personal suitability is of great importance. To communicate effectively with users, relatives, and colleagues, as well as to write and understand care documentation and receive delegation for feeding/medication, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms. Heavy lifting may occur, and mobility aids should be used. Animals and smoking are present in the workplace, so you should not have allergies.
