About this role

We are looking for a nursing assistant who wants to work in a friendly team where the clinic's vision is to provide good care and opportunities for development through a positive work environment. The Urology Clinic is a regional clinic that consists of a care department at the University Hospital in Linköping, as well as outpatient clinics in both Linköping and Norrköping. Our Offer At the outpatient clinic in Linköping, approximately 9,000 visits are made each year. The visits with doctors, urotherapists, nurses, stoma therapists, and nursing assistants include cancer investigations and a number of minor surgical procedures such as prostate sampling and cystoscopies for the investigation and treatment of the bladder. We are a quality-certified organization that offers internal training and professional development within the field. Here you can read about our career ladder for nursing assistants/care assistants and also about your benefits with us. Job Description As a nursing assistant in our organization, you will work in the team around the patient at the outpatient clinic and be responsible for basic care while following established routines. As a nursing assistant, you are the foundation of the clinic; you prepare the rooms and get the patients ready in the daily work where you assist doctors and nurses during various examinations. You will also have your own outpatient clinic. In your own clinic, you may perform catheter management, stoma and wound care, bladder installations, teaching RIK, learning, suture removal, and instrument handling. You will carry out documentation and scheduling in the Cosmic journal system. Your responsibilities include ordering materials through our internal system, replenishing supplies, and discussing with suppliers. In your role, you will work with colleagues, nurses, doctors, and administrative staff to distribute tasks at the clinic and promote a positive work environment. There are also social workers, dietitians, and physiotherapists connected to the units. Work Group There are four nursing assistants at the clinic as well as 12 nurses with extensive experience in urology. We have eight administrative staff and about 14 doctors. You will manage your own clinic but will have experienced colleagues, and there are great opportunities for professional development. The team around the patient, which consists of nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, and administrative staff, also includes social workers, dietitians, and physiotherapists. We work according to production planning, which improves the work at the clinic. About You You have a completed upper secondary education with at least 2,250 credits, in the Health and Care program or equivalent. For adult education, a completed upper secondary education corresponding to at least 1,400 credits in Health and Care education or equivalent is required. You have an interest in interacting with people. You utilize knowledge, skills, and abilities in your interactions during patient meetings or care situations. Experience in urological or other surgical care, as well as pre- and postoperative care, is advantageous. You possess good administrative skills and computer proficiency; experience with the Cosmic journal system is a plus. As you are part of a team around the patient, it is important that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who wants to develop, change, and has experience in open urological care. As a person, you are positive and see opportunities in changes. You are resilient under stress and can adapt to different situations. You find it easy to collaborate and have the ability to work both independently and in teams with other professionals. You are flexible and can rethink in unforeseen situations, as well as plan and prioritize your work effectively based on the organization's goals. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You are meticulous and quality-conscious. It is also an advantage if you want to contribute to the development of future care. To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important. We are each other's work environment, and you need to contribute to a good atmosphere through personal maturity, stability, flexibility, and good collaboration skills. The work requires you to be service-oriented and to focus on the patient. For this position, we are looking for someone who is flexible. Flexibility for us means being able to adapt to the current situation and change focus, which is crucial as unpredictable events occur daily. We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work. Therefore, this position suits you if you enjoy collaboration and are attentive and communicative with both colleagues, patients, and relatives.
