About this role

Make a difference. Every day. Do you want to be part of a wonderful team where we collectively drive the development of the unit with the goal of becoming even more specialized in stroke care? Then you should apply for the position of nursing assistant with us at Neurology Department 25 in Lund! The number of stroke patients undergoing thrombectomy has increased significantly in recent years, and there is no indication that this trend will slow down. From our stroke observation room, a rapid response team consisting of a nurse, nursing assistant, and physician responds to patients in the emergency department or directly in radiology, known as the direct alert pathway. In addition to our observation room, we have two care teams on the ward, one of which is our student team (NST). We have a total of 18 care beds. We provide thrombolysis treatment and manage the aftercare of patients who have undergone thrombectomy. We are also specialized in the investigation and treatment of various other neurological diagnoses such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Guillain-Barré syndrome, and Myasthenia gravis. We are located at Skåne University Hospital in Lund in newly built facilities with only single rooms for patients, equipped with ceiling lifts and modern equipment in each room. Here, we focus on care and knowledge about diseases and injuries of the nervous system. You will work in a team, learn new exciting things, and develop in your professional role while contributing to the development of our dynamic operations. RESPONSIBILITIES We look forward to welcoming a new nursing assistant colleague to us at Neurology Department 25 in Lund! In the role of nursing assistant, you will be responsible, together with the team, for patients with neurological diseases. You will perform common nursing assistant tasks within somatic care and emergency care. Additionally, you will be part of a large team where we all work according to established standards, while also taking a person-centered and holistic perspective. As a new employee, you will receive personalized onboarding with shadowing based on your specific competencies and an overview of the routines in our department. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures, preferably with a focus on healthcare/emergency care. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. It is an advantage if you have work experience in somatic care, emergency care, or neurological care. Our goal is to always provide our patients with the best possible care, and we hope you share this vision with us. Therefore, it is important that you have good collaboration skills and can adapt and prioritize your tasks based on changing circumstances. We actively work for an open and learning work climate and value personal commitment to the role. We appreciate that you share your knowledge and are interested in learning what you do not already know. Personal suitability is of great importance. In this recruitment process, we apply ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application today, and we look forward to getting to know you! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please note that you need to attach certificates/transcripts (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant training for your application to be considered complete. If you have received your certificate for a protected professional title, this should also be attached to your application. You need to provide proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate confirming that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not have this proof, you will be employed as a care assistant on a temporary basis, pending the certificate.
