The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and multiple specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works towards equitable care for all, based on research and clinical experience. The clinic has moved to a new building where the care environment is characterized by the importance of the care environment in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, evident in light and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart, with self-sufficiency in electricity and heating, among other resources.
We are seeking a nurse assistant/psychiatric care worker for
The Geriatric Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic, which offers specialized psychiatric care to individuals over 60 years old. The clinic has a team of doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, care workers, and medical secretaries. We collaborate daily with various actors such as social services, primary care, social insurance, and employment services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Working as a nurse assistant in psychiatric outpatient care is a highly varied and exciting job. The core of our work is patient interaction. As a nurse assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that helps people feel secure. You independently schedule telephone visits, digital consultations, clinic appointments, and perform some sample collections. As a nurse assistant, you collaborate in interprofessional teams with doctors, care workers, nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Telephone consultations and prescription requests are mostly handled via tele-q and 1177. The job may include home visits, for which a driver's license is helpful but not mandatory.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking candidates with an approved nursing assistant education and an interest in psychiatry. Additional psychiatric training is meritorious but not required.
