About this role
Do you want to work in a smaller, family-oriented nursing home where both residents and staff feel comfortable and secure? At Österäng, you will encounter a positive atmosphere, close to nature, and a warm community – where relationships and interactions truly matter.
We have four departments, each with 7–8 residents. The size of the departments allows you to get to know each individual and provide care that is based on their needs, wishes, and dignity. We have our own kitchen that contributes to a homely environment and enjoyable meal times for the residents.
In the elderly care sector of Vetlanda Municipality, we work for Esther's best – always focusing on the user and how we can enhance their safety and independence.
As a nursing assistant, you will support the elderly in their daily lives – socially, culturally, and physically. You will have a varied job where you are an important part of a team alongside nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. We help each other across departmental boundaries, support one another when needed, and are always willing to reach out to each other.
As part of our operations, we engage in organized activities where we bake, play bingo, sing, read, and exercise together. We also have service assistants who relieve the nursing assistants.
The resident survey shows that the residents feel secure, receive good treatment, and appreciate their daily lives at Österäng – something we are proud of and actively work to maintain.
Here, you will meet a dedicated and caring staff group that describes the workplace as charming, fun, and filled with good camaraderie. We see each other, greet one another, joke around, and are loyal to both our colleagues and our mission. If you are new, we will take care of you – and you will have access to supportive management that is there when needed.
We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and their professional role. You treat each individual with care and respect and are attentive to what is needed in the moment. You take initiative, have drive, and contribute to a positive and caring work environment. You thrive in a job where relationships and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life and where you make a difference in people's lives – every day.
The positions are permanent employment at 80–100 percent, depending on what we agree upon. Start date is according to agreement. Currently, the schedule includes working every other weekend, but the plan is to reduce the number of weekends in 2026.
We want our employees to feel good, both at work and outside of it. Therefore, you will have access to wellness benefits, free swimming, and discounts on massages. Read more about our benefits: https://vetlanda.se/formaner (https://vetlanda.se/formaner)
We believe in a workplace where diversity is a strength and where we always meet each other with joy and respect. There is room for courage – to dare to think differently, try new things, and develop. By collaborating and supporting each other, we create community and pride. Together, we are Vetlanda Municipality.
