Job Responsibilities
Are you a nursing assistant or specialist nursing assistant wanting to work with committed colleagues to make a difference for our elderly? Then the position at Kärna Care Home might be perfect for you!
We are currently seeking a new colleague to join our work team. This is a permanent position with work hours during day, evening, and every other weekend.
As a Nursing Assistant
You will work to meet residents' individual needs and create a meaningful daily life. Responsibilities include care work such as assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, and delegated medical interventions. You will also participate in social activities and contribute to a pleasant environment through routine household tasks like cleaning and laundry.
As a Specialist Nursing Assistant
In addition to the above, you will have an expanded responsibility for quality and development in the operation. You will contribute your in-depth expertise by mentoring colleagues, supporting care-related issues, and working to ensure quality in areas such as palliative or dementia care. You may also receive extended mandates or delegations for specific assignments from nurses or department managers.
We work using the Individual Needs Approach (IBIC) and a salutogenic approach, focusing on strengthening individual health and capabilities.
In both roles, you'll have opportunities to take responsibility for resident contact, participate in welcome interviews, develop and follow up implementation plans, and maintain close contact with relatives and other partners. Documentation is done in Treserva.
Workplace
Kärna Care Home is located in a nature-close area in the Malmslätt district, with three departments and 29 care beds, specialized in nursing home care. Many residents have both somatic and dementia conditions.
Approximately 25-30 colleagues work here, including nursing assistants, care workers, nurses, coordinators, and department managers. We collaborate closely with occupational therapists and physiotherapists in our multiprofessional teams.
We offer a work environment emphasizing proximity, security, and development. We regularly organize activities like bingo, gymnastics, music, theme evenings, and outings to enhance residents' quality of life.
Candidate Profile
We primarily seek candidates with approved nursing assistant qualifications and professional certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare.
It is advantageous if you are a specialist nursing assistant, preferably with specialization in palliative or dementia care.
We prefer candidates with eldercare experience, including delegated healthcare tasks. Knowledge of IBIC, BPSD, salutogenic approach, and low-affective interaction is beneficial.
You must communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have good computer skills. Experience with documentation in journal systems is an advantage.
Personally, you should be self-driven, responsible, and empathetic. You work well with others, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive work environment.
For specialist nursing assistants, we seek pedagogical insight and the ability to guide and support colleagues in daily work, contributing specialized competence to operational development and care quality assurance.
