The Orthopedics and Hand Surgery department conducts university hospital care and clinical research at the region's three hospitals: Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. The department provides care across the entire orthopedic field, including highly specialized care. An extensive restructuring is underway to improve accessibility, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The establishment of a clinical research unit is a key part of this development work.

Position: Nursing Assistant, Surgical Department, Karlskoga Hospital
Job Responsibilities
As a nursing assistant in the surgical department, you will work in a team with the surgical nurse, surgeon, anesthetist nurse, and anesthesiologist. You will prepare for the surgery alongside the surgical nurse by gathering and setting up instruments and sterile materials, as well as preparing the medical technical equipment needed. As a nursing assistant, you take significant responsibility with the surgical team and play a vital role in ensuring that the surgery is conducted safely for the patient. During the operation, you will be responsible for providing the team with instruments and materials. After the surgery, you and the surgical nurse will check and document the instruments.

Qualifications
We welcome applicants who are trained nursing assistants, preferably with a focus on acute care according to previous program structures, or those who are trained nursing assistants within the current program structure. To assess your employability, a transcript of your healthcare education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding your protected professional title must be included with your application.
We are looking for a nursing assistant who is driven to develop themselves and their workplace. You should enjoy working in a team and be able to work independently, be engaged, and show great motivation in your work. You should have good collaboration skills, be flexible, and eager to develop. Personal suitability will be given significant weight.
