The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. Your Responsibilities We are currently seeking two new colleagues for Vallastaden Care Home who want to be part of our wonderful team. The positions are for awake night shifts, where you will also work evenings every other weekend, with a working percentage of 82-85%. At Vallastaden Care Home, 5-6 employees work during the night, with one person assigned to each department. Working as a nursing assistant at night is an independent role. You will start by receiving reports from the evening staff and reviewing our documentation system, Treserva. During the night, you have scheduled visits to certain residents, which may include supervision and various caregiving tasks. Other common tasks include cleaning shared areas and washing both residents' and staff's work clothes. With us, you will work to meet the individual needs of each resident. Together with your colleagues, you are an important piece in creating a meaningful daily life for our clients. The role of a nursing assistant also includes caregiving tasks, which may involve assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. We work based on IBIC (individual needs in focus) and prioritize the best interests of the individual. Our work is also characterized by a salutogenic approach, which means focusing on the healthy aspects and drawing out the person's own abilities. Your Workplace The Health and Care Administration provides elderly care under municipal management in Linköping. Here, there are approximately 1,200 permanent employees and a large number of substitutes. Linköping Municipality has extensive and well-established experience in providing care and support for our elderly residents. Vallastaden Care Home is located in the new district of Vallastaden on Lärdomsgatan. It is a residence for individuals with dementia. The building has a total of 60 apartments spread over three floors. There is also a spa and a light therapy room. Our guests have access to a beautiful outdoor environment, including a greenhouse that can be used year-round. In our courtyard, there is a pleasant forest environment with a walking path where one can take the opportunity to practice balance at various stations. Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who has an approved Swedish education as a nursing assistant, as well as experience working or interning in the field. Experience in dementia care is an advantage, as is prior night shift experience. You also have knowledge of a salutogenic approach, and familiarity with low-arousal responses is considered a merit. Experience with the IBIC approach is also advantageous. Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. You should be capable of using digital tools in your work, and experience with documenting in journal systems is a plus. As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, pushing your work forward. You also work well with others and communicate clearly and effectively. It is important that you possess an empathetic ability, allowing you to understand others' perspectives and situations.
