About this role

Make a Difference. Every Day. Are you looking to contribute your commitment and expertise to an organization where your skills play a crucial role in patient recovery? We welcome you to Adult Psychiatry Ward 5 Eating Disorders in Lund. Eating Disorders Center offers highly specialized inpatient and day care services. With a regional mandate, we receive patients from across Skåne. We also provide outpatient services for patients in Lund. Approximately 40 professionals work at the Eating Disorders Center, including nurses, medical secretaries, counselors, nursing assistants, psychologists, physicians, physiotherapists, and dietitians. Region Skåne has received additional assignments within national specialized healthcare (NHV), and for the first time, Skåne's psychiatry has received NHV for treatment-resistant eating disorders. Here, extensive experience, high competence, and a strong drive to develop this area are evident. Starting November 1st, 2023, we are transitioning to the title of nursing assistant and will gradually phase out the term "skötare" across all psychiatric facilities. This title change will not diminish the need for specialized expertise, which remains critical and will continue to be developed. The administration has begun exploring what is needed for ongoing professional development, increased professional skills, and growth opportunities related to patient care. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a night shift nursing assistant, you will work in a treatment team alongside a nurse, responsible for both psychiatric and somatic care. You will help create safe and calm conditions for patients' nighttime rest. Duties include providing meal support during evening snack time, preparing patients' breakfast, and potentially monitoring vital parameters. You may also offer conversational support when needed and conduct regular ward rounds to ensure patient well-being during the night. Our work is characterized by building and developing patient relationships. We actively work to establish a good alliance and build patient trust. Significant emphasis is placed on motivational work through conversations. We provide crucial support in an individual's unique change process. We offer excellent personal development opportunities and seek individuals who can actively participate in the unit's improvement efforts. We aim to provide you with the tools and conditions to thrive and succeed, with new employees receiving individually tailored introductions. QUALIFICATIONS We seek candidates with nursing assistant or specialized psychiatric nursing assistant qualifications. This means having a approved high school healthcare and care education (2500 points), approved healthcare and care education via Komvux (minimum 1350 points), or an equivalent nursing assistant education. As the work involves significant communication and documentation, excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, are required. You should also be proficient in basic medical-technical procedures at the nursing assistant level. We prefer candidates with experience working as a nursing assistant or in psychiatric settings. Experience working with patients with mental health issues or eating disorders is particularly advantageous. Experience in somatic care, training in conversation methodology, group leadership, and teamwork are also beneficial. Good computer skills and basic knowledge of the Melior journal system are advantageous. As a person, you are flexible and capable of innovative, holistic thinking. Patient-focused with an ability to build trust, you can navigate rapidly changing environments requiring oversight, planning, and structure. You should be able to work independently and collaborate effectively. Personal suitability is highly valued. Please attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if available, or your diploma. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1st, 2023, or wish to retain the "skötare" title, please provide supporting documentation. A background check will be conducted before potential employment. We warmly welcome your application and look forward to getting to know you! ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please note that you must attach certificates/transcripts (not just diplomas) from your nursing assistant education for a complete application. If you have received a protected professional title certificate, this should also be attached. From July 1st, 2023, the nursing assistant title became a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title in healthcare. Specific transition rules apply regarding employment and title usage.
