NÄL (Northern Älvsborg County Hospital) is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. MÄVA MÄVA is an abbreviation for Medical Elderly Care Ward, which means we care for medically acute elderly patients over 75 years old. Our patients may have various diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, infections, and diabetes, which makes our work both developmental and challenging. We aim to increase accessibility and security, reduce anxiety and concerns. With short and simple contact paths, our ambition is to deliver care at the right level at the right time. A large portion of our patients come directly to the ward without first passing through the emergency room. We are part of Collaborative Healthcare, which means we collaborate with ambulance services, municipalities, and primary care. We also have our own local healthcare team. Work Tasks At MÄVA, we have transferred tasks to Regional Services, meaning they handle most tasks not directly related to patient care, thus utilizing the nursing assistant's competence optimally. Department work alternates between acute care and standard nursing tasks. In acute care, nursing assistants can perform tasks such as sample collection and various examinations, including ECG and bladder scans. Standard nursing tasks include daily ADL, wound dressing, various cultures, bladder catheterization, CPAP and BiPaP treatment. The nursing assistant is also a significant part of documentation work, responsible for updating status, completing standard care plans, and wound journals. At the department, you are part of the patient team consisting of physiotherapist, occupational therapist, nursing assistant, nurse, and doctor. We have individual scheduling and work both day and evening shifts, including every other weekend. Qualifications We are now seeking someone with a protected professional title as a nursing assistant; previous experience working with elderly people is considered meritorious. Work at MÄVA requires good collaboration skills, ability to work independently, and take initiative. Considering that healthcare and the future will be under development, it is seen as a significant plus if you view development as a natural part of work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Other Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period. As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means you need certification from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the nursing assistant title in healthcare. More information is available on their website.
