In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all stages of life. We make each other better.
Infection and Pulmonary Medicine, Inpatient Care
Would you like to work with patients of various ages in a stable work group with varied tasks? Would you like to gain knowledge about lung and infectious diseases, healthcare hygiene, and infection control? Would you like the opportunity to develop in your work and drive development together with experienced colleagues? Then take the chance to start working with us! We are now seeking those who want to try working day and evening shifts.
At our infection and pulmonary medicine department, patients with diseases such as pneumonia, sepsis, wound infections, endocarditis, lung cancer, and COPD are treated. Patients with compromised immune systems or isolation-requiring diseases like tuberculosis are also cared for here.
Infection Ward A2 has 14 care beds distributed across single rooms with and without locks and isolation rooms with negative pressure locks. We work in nursing pairs of nurses and nursing assistants, and in teams with other professionals around the patient.
Your Work Tasks
Infectious medicine is an area where conditions can change quickly, and work tasks may need to be reprioritized. Flexibility and familiarity with both nursing work and acute care are required.
At the infection ward, we work to support the patient's recovery and to promote and maintain the patient's own resources and abilities.
As a nursing assistant, you are responsible for the patient's basic care and meeting their care needs.
The nursing assistant is also responsible for taking and registering vital parameters and other measurements, and reporting to the nurse when necessary. Blood sampling, wound dressings, and various microbiological samples are also common in the work.
Who Are You?
We are seeking a qualified nursing assistant. Previous experience in emergency/infectious care in inpatient settings is desirable.
As a person, you are easy to collaborate with and can work independently and take initiative. The job requires you to be stress-resistant and able to remain professional in difficult situations while quickly establishing trust with the patients in our care. You should also have a high capacity for empathy and enjoy working with different patient categories.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
A background check through criminal record extract will be conducted before employment decision.
