In our care department, we receive patients with acute surgical conditions and disorders of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Here, we provide both pre- and postoperative care with fast workflows, varied tasks, and a high tempo centered around teamwork. Nursing Assistant, Department 11, Surgery Falun
Responsibilities
As a nursing assistant with us, you will work closely with patients and be an important part of the care chain. Your responsibilities include:
• Basic care as well as pre- and postoperative care
• Monitoring and control measurements with NEWS, pancreatitis checks, and skull observations
• Some sample collection
• Management of drains, urinary catheters, stomas, etc.
• Dressings - drains, wounds, stomas, etc.
• Documentation and collaboration within the care team
• Preparations for surgery
The position involves day, evening, and weekend shifts with flexibility according to a flex-time agreement. Start date to be agreed upon.

Requirements:
• Certified nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care Program or the vocational package in Health and Care at adult education
• Presentation of a diploma from VO-college and a protected professional title
Meritorious:
• Experience in inpatient care
• Experience in emergency care, surgical nursing, or with patients suffering from gastrointestinal diseases

Information about the professional title
As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within health and care. You can apply for the certificate starting July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but under a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a position with us at Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected professional title to use the title nursing assistant.
