About this role

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and client transportation. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is divided into six geographical regions and a head office with eight departments, a service center, and a national transport unit. The Security Department is responsible for all security operations within the organization. The focus is on ensuring that the agency's security work is conducted sustainably, contributing to a legally secure and effective correctional service. The department's vision is to be a leader in security work at an international level. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service collaborates with several partners according to Government Decision JU2008/5776/PO, to ensure an effective and sustainable fight against organized crime. The Intelligence Service is part of the agency's security organization and works to collect, compile, evaluate, and analyze information to support decision-makers, managers, and other clients within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service with decision-making support. The assignment includes environmental analysis, internal and external collaboration, and national and international cooperation on security issues. We are now seeking an Intelligence Specialist based in Stockholm. RESPONSIBILITIES Your main tasks include intelligence gathering through communication and dialogue, as well as documentation, processing, and reporting of collected information. These tasks are performed to assess inmates from a risk and security perspective in close dialogue with supervisors and the work group. The work is characterized by high security awareness and varies between planned and event-driven tasks, requiring flexibility and personal responsibility. You will handle multiple cases simultaneously, quickly adapt to changes, and see opportunities in new situations. Your communication skills, humility, and interest in people are crucial. You distinguish between personal and professional, work systematically, and drive your processes forward. You show commitment, follow decisions, goals, and guidelines, and contribute to a positive and developing work environment. You collaborate well with others, are socially active, and maintain relationships. The role also involves contributing to method development and training, as well as collaborating with other authorities and partners nationally. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a great interest in people and who is skilled at building and maintaining relationships. You are confident, stable, and self-aware, with the ability to switch between operational and administrative work. It is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human will and ability to develop. You are aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to equal treatment of all through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who has: • Relevant university education or other education combined with experience that the Prison and Probation Service finds relevant • Several years of relevant work experience in creating trusting relationships • Class B driver's license • Ability to express oneself well verbally and in writing in Swedish • Good proficiency and aptitude for handling various computer systems It is meritorious if you have: • Correctional service experience • Documented specialized intelligence training • Merited service within an intelligence function • Good knowledge of security and confidentiality issues • Good knowledge of information security • Experience with the Prison and Probation Service's client databases and understanding of their functions • Language skills and experience from other cultures OTHER The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replace it with selection questions relevant to the position.
