Your workplace
The hospital in Torsby is an acute care hospital in northern Värmland with approximately 50 beds. It has an operating department, intensive care, intermediate care, recovery, a mobile team, outpatient services, and an emergency department. The hospital is relatively small but serves a large area with around 40,000 residents and many tourists, located about 110 kilometers from the Central Hospital in Karlstad. This means that the range of illnesses is varied and broad, allowing for quick acquisition of good knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases.
Your responsibilities
It is important to us that you feel you have a valuable role in our team.
We are currently seeking three junior doctors for medicine, two for surgery/orthopedics, and two for nephrology for summer positions in 2026. As a junior doctor with us, you will work with standard tasks on the ward and partially in the emergency department. The work involves personal responsibility under supervision.
We believe that healthcare should be based on the needs of our patients and the competencies of our staff.
Your skills and competencies
We are looking for individuals who will have completed at least semester 10 of their medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country by spring 2026, or who have graduated from their medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country. You must have passed the courses and exams within the medical field relevant to the position. You should also have a passing grade in SVA3, C1, or eligibility for higher education, or have passed a knowledge test.
As a person, you are outgoing, have good collaboration skills, and enjoy taking responsibility alongside the rest of the team with a focus on high patient safety and quality in care. You are proactive, clear, structured, and have a good pedagogical approach.
