About the Organization
We are currently seeking junior doctors for adult psychiatry in Värmland!
The psychiatric inpatient care departments are located in the psychiatry building at Karlstad Central Hospital. Patients come to psychiatric inpatient care either by self-referral at the psychiatric emergency department, through a referral from another healthcare provider, or via LPT (the Act on Compulsory Psychiatric Care).
Our team includes doctors, nurses, caregivers, social workers, occupational therapists, and staff with lived experience.

Job Description
The responsibilities of a junior doctor vary depending on the specific area you work in, but fundamentally involve participating in the daily care activities on the ward alongside senior doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professional categories.
Your work will include medical assessments, record-keeping, treatment follow-ups, participation in rounds, and care planning. The role entails personal responsibility under supervision, allowing you to gradually develop your clinical competence and independence within psychiatry.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who will have completed at least semester 10 of their medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country by spring 2024, or who have graduated from their medical education in Sweden or another EU/EEA country. You must have passed the courses and exams in the medical field relevant to the position. You should also have a passing grade in SVA3, C1, or eligibility for higher education studies, or have passed a knowledge test.
As a person, you are outgoing, have good collaborative skills, and enjoy taking responsibility alongside the rest of the team with a focus on high patient safety and quality of care. You are proactive, clear, structured, and possess a good pedagogical approach.
