Junior Doctor for General Psychiatry and Specialist Psychiatry Summer 2026

We are now looking for individuals who are currently in medical training and interested in working as a temporary junior physician or medical assistant within General Psychiatry or Specialist Psychiatry during weeks 24-32, with an introduction in week 24. We are seeking temporary junior physicians and medical assistants for our outpatient services in Lindesberg, Karlskoga, Hallsberg, and Örebro, as well as for the inpatient care in Örebro. If interested, there may be opportunities to take on on-call shifts in Örebro and to work hours during the fall or holidays after this period. General Psychiatry consists of outpatient and inpatient care and is one of four areas within the Psychiatry Department. The department has general psychiatric clinics in Hallsberg, Karlskoga, Lindesberg, and Örebro. Additionally, in Örebro, there is the Affective Clinic, the Neuropsychiatric Assessment Unit, the Young Adults Clinic, and the Brain Stimulation Unit. The inpatient care has two wards in Örebro and also operates the SPOT (Specialist Psychiatric Care Team) in Lindesberg, Karlskoga, and Örebro as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care. Specialist Psychiatry provides addiction care and psychosis care in Örebro, both outpatient and inpatient. The outpatient and inpatient psychosis care is located at Karlahuset in Örebro. The outpatient services of the Addiction Center and Maria Ungdom are centrally located in Örebro, while the LARO clinic is at USÖ. The inpatient ward of the Addiction Center is also at USÖ. Within Specialist Psychiatry, there are also specialized clinics (DBT, trauma, eating disorders, and the Development Unit for psychotherapy and psychological treatment). In addition, the Psychiatry Department in Örebro Region also encompasses the areas of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Operational and Management Support. Junior Physicians for General Psychiatry and Specialist Psychiatry Summer 2026 Job Responsibilities As a junior physician or medical assistant, all tasks will be performed under the supervision of an experienced physician and should be viewed as a form of training position. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in the medical profession through commonly occurring tasks in psychiatric outpatient and inpatient care. Qualifications Preferably completed T9 in medical training in Sweden or completed the psychiatric course in EU training. To work as a temporary junior physician in the summer of 2026, all credits up to T10 must also be completed, and for European training, a special permit is required. Swedish at the C1 level according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. If a candidate from EU training is employed, they will need to apply for a special permit themselves via the National Board of Health and Welfare after receiving their contract.
