Your Role We are currently seeking a motivated maintenance engineer who wants to play a central role in ensuring operational reliability and the long-term development of our production system. The maintenance department at Saab in Tannefors is responsible for all maintenance and repair work of production equipment. We are approximately 35 employees with various competencies and areas of responsibility. Much of the work is carried out by our own staff, while in some cases we collaborate with equipment manufacturers or local service providers. Production operates in various shift patterns depending on the workshop. Within maintenance, we primarily work during the day and in two shifts, and we also staff an on-call service around the clock. Our workshops and types of machinery include: * Machine workshop, mainly milling and turning machines * Sheet metal workshop * Composite workshop * Surface treatment and painting * Assembly, final assembly, and hangar In this role, you will also participate in investment projects and drive technical improvement efforts. You will contribute to the skills development within the department by working on training and succession planning and will also lead smaller projects within both production and maintenance operations. On-call duty may be required in this role. Currently, maintenance engineers share the responsibility of receiving fault reports around the clock, every day of the week. As a maintenance engineer, you will: * Develop and drive maintenance strategies for production * Be responsible for and optimize spare parts strategy * Support technicians in their daily work and provide technical expertise * Maintain supplier contacts and follow up on technical services and products * Create reports and present results and improvement proposals to management Your Profile We believe you are analytical, structured, and have a good ability to see the big picture. You enjoy collaborating but can also drive projects and initiatives independently. You have the ability to communicate technical solutions in an educational manner to both technicians and management. As a maintenance engineer, you also function as a technical leader. This means you need to be a good communicator, able to engage others and build trust in change initiatives. Experience in the maintenance or construction of machine tools is a strong merit. In this role, you need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. We are looking for someone who has: * A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, maintenance, or production engineering) * Documented experience in maintenance work within industry * Good command of English, both spoken and written It is advantageous if you have: * Experience with CNC-controlled machine tools and their maintenance * Experience with PLC and control systems * Experience with automation and robotic systems * Familiarity with digital maintenance systems (CMMS) The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection.
