The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is an integrated department between the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology, located on Johanneberg and Lindholmen campuses in Gothenburg. Its operations encompass high-quality research, education, and utilization in areas such as AI & machine learning, software & hardware engineering, computer science, security, network & systems. The organization consists of nearly 300 employees with a highly international composition representing 50 different countries. The Department is seeking a Temporary Educational Administrator. The administrative operations at the department are shared between Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg. We interact daily with students, teachers, and other employees, providing purposeful and professional service. As an educational administrator, you will be part of the department's operational support division and a smaller work group currently consisting of seven people. The division has a total of 29 employees providing competent support in areas such as finance, HR, communication, study guidance, educational administration, internal services, etc. Job Responsibilities Your primary mission is to support students and teachers in basic educational administration. You will collaborate with colleagues from many areas of the organization, such as teaching staff, program managers, deputy heads, line managers, and study directors. Here, you are a key person interacting with people in large and small constellations from around the world. Educational administrative tasks include reporting and registration in the study documentation system Ladok, admissions administration, managing thesis work, exam management, staffing the reception, and other tasks within educational administration. As the operation is integrated, you will be active within both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology, at both Johanneberg and Lindholmen campuses. In this role, you will actively network within the division, department, and both main organizations. We also expect you to work with your colleagues to develop routines to ensure high service levels both internally and externally. Job responsibilities may vary according to needs. Qualifications We are seeking candidates with relevant higher education or equivalent deemed suitable for the role. Strong merit is experience with similar tasks within universities and/or experience involving public administrative work. Good computer skills are required. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Ladok, NyA, and other educational systems used by the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers is advantageous. Communicating well in both English and Swedish is essential as we operate in an international environment. To succeed in the role, you must have a genuine interest in people and enjoy collaborating with others. As a person, you are service-oriented, can work independently, and have the ability to take initiative in finding solutions to develop and streamline administrative work. You are self-driven, efficient, meticulous, and flexible in your work. You have a structured approach with good ability to plan your work, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Employment This is a fixed-term full-time temporary position until 2026-12-31. Desired start date is 2026-01-01 or by agreement.
