About this role
We are now looking for two family support workers with drive and commitment for our family centers in Hovsjö and Geneta. The employment is for one year with some possibility of extension. Do you want to join us and make a difference? Södertälje Municipality has invested for several years in providing early and accessible support and is now seeking two new employees for our growing team in Family Support. Family Support is part of First-Line Support and consists of two family centers that work with families with children aged 0-5 years, as well as a group of family support workers who focus on families with school-aged children.
The family centers are a collaboration between the municipality's preventive services in the form of family support workers and open preschools, as well as the region's child health care (BHV) and midwifery services (BMM). Our operations offer interventions without needs assessment, and as a family support worker, you will work closely with the region's staff in meetings with parents and children. Each family center has two family support workers and two preschool educators who run the open preschool. We work with an expanded home visit program, which is an important part of our offerings, where we meet first-time parents six times in their home environment. In your role as a family support worker, you will also have a strong focus on outreach work to reach more families. Our vision is that all families in Södertälje should know they can turn to us when they need help. Family Support is a unit, which means you will be well-informed about the entire operation and have the opportunity to assist where needed.
Your responsibilities
You will, among other things:
- Work with the expanded home visit program and 3-year visits together with BHV.
- Conduct advisory and support conversations with families and children.
- Actively collaborate with preschools and other stakeholders that engage with children and youth.
- Give presentations.
- Work outreach to reach more families in need of support.
- Guide families to the right intervention when other actors need to be involved.
- Facilitate group activities for children and parents.
- Monitor developments in the field.
We strive to meet citizens when it suits them best, which means that evening work may occasionally be required.
Who are you?
The operation is in a development phase, and we need someone who thinks innovatively and wants to drive positive changes. You are skilled at utilizing time and seeing what can be done while keeping the overarching mission in focus and collaborating with others in the team. In collaboration with families, changes can occur quickly, and we need someone who is flexible and can work in a positive spirit even under unpredictability. You are a rock in collaboration with other professionals and an ambassador for our operation.
