About this role

Are you interested in working with international trade and helping companies handle customs correctly? Then the position of Unit Manager for the Northern Region within the Revenue Department might be right for you. The Swedish Customs Administration has an important societal mission with the vision "only approved goods across the border," which means that only legal and declared goods pass our borders. Our goal is to create a safer society, increased growth and welfare, and fair competition. The Revenue Department has a broad mandate to work for correct revenue collection, i.e., customs, taxes, and fees, through three areas of operation: permits, post-clearance control, and revenue monitoring. This means we issue and monitor permits that facilitate trade for companies, verify that imports and exports have been conducted correctly through audits, and ensure that levied customs, taxes, and fees are paid. The regulatory framework for these operations is largely EU-wide, and we participate in many international working groups that develop legislation and processes. The Revenue Department's work is conducted within four units with flexible groups that work with the entire Customs Administration's mandate but are specialized according to operational needs. We are now seeking a manager for the Northern Unit in Sundsvall. The unit consists of two groups with a total of approximately 25 employees. You are expected to direct, lead, follow up, and develop operations in line with the Customs Administration's vision and operational plan. You are responsible for the unit's goals and results, as well as overall budget responsibility. You will also, together with another unit manager, have responsibility for coordinating revenue monitoring work across the department's operations.
