About this role

Svedala Municipality is located in the heart of the Öresund region, with Malmö, Lund, and Copenhagen within close reach, and the train station just a stone's throw from the municipal house. With high ambitions and cutting-edge operations, the municipality works towards its vision - an attractive municipality with opportunities for life. Svedala is in a highly expansive phase and is a beloved family municipality where many want to move. We strive for attractive and health-promoting workplaces to offer services of the highest quality. Mission The Safety and Emergency Unit is now recruiting a Community Safety Officer. We are seeking someone with a strong commitment to society, driven by the desire to create a better community for everyone. You enjoy working with people of all ages and have the ability to meet our citizens and partners both within and outside the municipality to create security and safety. The unit currently consists of half a dozen employees, including community safety officers, a coordinating safety officer, and a unit manager. Together, we create a safe and secure municipality for all. As a Community Safety Officer, you will work on-site in the municipality, focusing on proactive and safety-enhancing work with community benefit as the primary goal. Your main tools are a communicative approach and the ability to interact with people. In addition to safety-enhancing work, duties include overseeing municipal facilities during unmanned hours and responding to burglary alarms. As a Community Safety Officer, you will also support other municipal services, such as home care during urgent cases. Shifts are scheduled for evenings, nights, and weekends. You will always work together with a colleague. Competence Personal characteristics are crucial in this role. We are seeking someone with a positive view of people, empathetic abilities, and the capability to handle conflicts constructively. You should be pedagogical, socially competent, and adaptable in various contexts. We expect you to share Svedala Municipality's fundamental values of a humane perspective, respect for individuals, and belief in human potential. You are expected to contribute to equal treatment for all. For this position, you need a high school diploma. We prefer candidates with post-secondary education in areas such as: security, criminology, political science, social work, or emergency preparedness. Similar education or experience may be considered relevant by the employer. We appreciate work experience in social work, healthcare, security professions, or similar fields. Experience with non-standard working hours or shift work is desirable. You must have excellent Swedish language skills in both spoken and written communication and good computer skills. Additional language skills are considered an advantage. As the position involves working with children and youth, you must be able to provide a criminal record extract for employment. Driving license B and good driving experience are required. For questions regarding the position or recruitment process, please contact coordinator Martin Persson using the contact information below. Working Time/Duration Hourly paid, start date as soon as possible by agreement. Salary Individual salary setting applies. We warmly welcome your application!
