About this role
As a security guard at Avarn Security, you have a vital societal role in protecting and monitoring designated security objects in accordance with the Protection Act.
The primary responsibility of a security guard is to monitor security objects and protect against sabotage, espionage, terrorist acts, and serious robbery. A security guard has special authority to inspect vehicles, conduct body searches, seize items, refuse entry to, and detain individuals present at a security object. Security objects are operations that are essential for society to function peacefully, during crises, or in times of war. Examples of security objects include a nuclear power plant, an airport, or a military facility.
Working hours: Varied hours, day and night
Work location: SAAB Kockums Karlskrona
Duration: June-August with the possibility of on-call employment before and after the summer of 2026

Job responsibilities: As a security guard, you will work in various environments with diverse tasks, such as staffing entrance receptions, ensuring that unauthorized individuals do not gain access to the security object, as well as stationary and patrolling surveillance. This applies to both armed and unarmed positions.
Qualities we are looking for: You want to work in a role that promotes safety and have a natural ability to combine service with a pronounced security mindset. You are meticulous and structured in your work approach, as there may be some administrative tasks involved. We are seeking security-conscious and service-oriented employees with inner confidence, maturity, and a natural drive to help. Strong emphasis is placed on communication and collaboration skills, as this role involves significant interaction with customers, contractors, and visitors. Personal qualities are what determine the best fit for the assignment. We place great importance on your ability to work in a team, but we also expect you to independently identify and solve problems. You have a positive attitude towards your work and the ability to spread positive energy within a team.
Requirements for applicants:
• In addition to the personal qualities we seek and describe for the various assignments, you must meet the basic requirements to qualify for the position:
• At least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• High school diploma
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Valid driver's license (B)
You must also be free from criminal convictions*, drug-free, have a stable financial situation, and possess good health and physical fitness to be employed by Avarn Security.
Preferred qualifications:
• Security guard training (VU1 + VU2)
• Weapons training
• Previous experience in a service role
• Civil security guard training (or military security guard training**, completed from 2020 or later)

** If you have completed security guard training during military basic training, it is also valid for civilian use. The training must have been completed in 2016 or later, and the training certificate must not be older than 5 years. If you have security guard training through the Armed Forces without military basic training, you will need to complete a shortened security guard training to work as a civilian security guard.
