We are facing an exciting development phase with major urban development projects, new mobility solutions, and a growing need for smart traffic solutions.
Here, you'll have the opportunity to work both strategically and operationally on issues that make a real difference for residents, visitors, and future generations.
The Traffic Unit consists of approximately 20 employees divided into two groups: planning and permits. We are responsible for developing the municipal road network, promoting sustainable travel, and contributing traffic expertise in urban planning. We are now strengthening the planning group with two new traffic planners - and we hope you are one of them!
We believe in the strength of combining different experiences. Therefore, we are looking for both those who have worked with traffic planning for several years and those who have gained a few years of experience in the profession and now want to take the next step. Here, you'll have the opportunity to develop in your role, regardless of where you are in your career.
As a traffic planner, you will work on creating safe, accessible, and attractive street spaces. With your expertise, you will contribute to urban development and investment projects, analyzing, designing, and evaluating traffic solutions based on local conditions and the municipality's overall goals.
Examples of work tasks:
· Develop proposals and review the design of streets and traffic solutions
· Analyze traffic flows and identify improvement areas
· Investigate and develop strategic documents in the traffic area
· Project manage and coordinate infrastructure projects
· Assess and propose street design in urban development projects
· Conduct investigations in mobility and parking
· Present analyses and plans clearly and pedagogically
· Initiate and drive dialogue with external parties such as the Region and Swedish Transport Administration
Are you the one we're looking for?
You are analytical, solution-oriented, and have good knowledge of the traffic area. You are easy to collaborate with, communicate clearly, and can explain complex issues simply. You see opportunities rather than obstacles and enjoy transforming complex problems into concrete solutions that lead to results. You also like working in periodically high-paced work environments and are attentive to the organization's needs.
We prefer that you have:
· At least 3 years of experience in traffic planning
· Relevant academic education, e.g., in urban planning or community development
· Good knowledge of street and road design
· Experience with GIS and Office package
· Fluent Swedish in speech and writing
· Driver's license (Class B)
Meritorious:
· Experience from municipal operations
· Experience in street design and CAD
· Experience with traffic analyses and forecasts
· Knowledge of QGIS or similar geographic data analysis tools
