About this role

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now seeking those who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm. The Traffic Office is responsible for managing and developing Stockholm's public spaces to ensure they are safe, attractive, accessible, and sustainable. The assignment includes everything from maintaining the existing urban environment to implementing strategic investment projects and planning for tomorrow's growing metropolis. To fulfill our mission, we have around 470 colleagues, primarily located in the newly renovated Technical Committee Building on Kungsholmen. Together, we ensure that Stockholm continues to be a city at the forefront of sustainable transportation solutions and vibrant environments, both today and in the future. We are currently seeking individuals who can step in and work extra hours, primarily during standard office hours. However, since our service center is open 24/7 all year round, there are also opportunities for evening, weekend, and to some extent, night shifts for those interested. Welcome to Us Service Center is a unit within the Business Support division with a broad responsibility for most of the Traffic Office's support activities, such as HR, IT, security and preparedness, information management, committee administration, and feedback handling. The division's mission is to be a supportive function that enables other departments to fulfill their assignments. The division employs approximately 70 staff members. The Service Center unit handles and responds to Stockholm residents' comments and reports concerning the city's outdoor environment. The operation is open 24/7 all year round and consists of service administrators, coordinators, and a unit manager. The unit has approximately 25 permanent employees and several hourly-paid staff. This year, we will collectively handle around 400,000 cases. Our operations are growing, and to ensure we always have good staffing, we are currently seeking those interested in a stimulating extra job as a service administrator. The role involves being the Traffic Office's point of contact for Stockholm residents. You will be responsible for receiving and managing cases related to the city's outdoor environment, incoming via both phone and e-services like the city's "Tyck till" app. Our operations are daily influenced by global events, and we handle a variety of issues, from snow removal complaints to parking permits and questions about city traffic planning. Service Center employees play a crucial role in providing concrete service to Stockholm residents and creating trust and credibility for the City of Stockholm in an increasingly changing and uncertain world. We Offer - A secure workplace where we help and support each other in daily work and protect a good work environment. - An exciting and educational assignment in a constantly developing city. - An opportunity to contribute to Stockholm's development. - A great community in a team that develops each other. - Option to work some hours remotely. - A comprehensive introductory training with a colleague as a personal mentor. - A workplace in newly renovated premises on Kungsholmen, just a few minutes' walk from Central Station. Your Competence and Experience We are seeking candidates who have: - At least a theoretical high school education, preferably with a social sciences focus. - Work experience in similar customer service operations. - Excellent computer skills and experience working in various IT systems. - Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. - Good English skills in speech and writing. It is meritorious if you have: - Worked in a politically governed organization. - Experience handling cases and customer service across different channels, with particular focus on telephone. - Good local knowledge of Stockholm. - Post-secondary education in urban development. We place great importance on personal qualities. You have a strong interest in service and are professional in your contact with both colleagues and customers, always wanting to provide excellent service. You enjoy working across multiple communication channels and communicate clearly and simply with a high service level and ease of connecting with others. You are detail-oriented, solution-focused, and stress-resistant when needed. You take initiative to understand the assignment and have a desire to comprehend why the city works in certain ways, and can explain this understandably to Stockholm residents. You are curious and interested in urban development and social issues. You are a team player who wants to contribute to good collaboration and the collective work environment. You thrive best in teams that support and help each other in daily work. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at assessing each person's skills and thereby counteracting discrimination.
