About this role

Welcome to the Care and Welfare Administration. We work with support and care for the elderly and persons with disabilities. Our goal is to help them live as active and independent a life as possible. The Care and Welfare Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and welfare. Approximately 7,500 employees work here based on our core values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. Here, you have great opportunities to take personal responsibility, develop, and contribute with your skills. We strive towards an organizational culture of mutual trust and pride in our operations. More information about working in Uppsala Municipality can be found at https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/vard-halsa-omsorg/ Within the Care and Welfare Administration, full-time employment is the norm. This means that all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. More information about what this entails for this specific role will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from this norm. Would you like to contribute to a meaningful and secure everyday life for people with mental disabilities? Do you have experience working in care and welfare or similar fields? Then you might be the candidate we're looking for! Our operations serve individuals over 18 from all diagnostic groups within social psychiatry and with varying functional abilities. Residences are located in different city districts in and around Uppsala, each with its own character. We work to build relationships, create conditions for improved life situations, and reduce social exclusion. We work preventively, with a low-affective approach, and based on individual needs and possibilities. Job Responsibilities As a residential assistant, you will contribute to making a difference for people to achieve increased independence in their home and social contexts. The assignment includes motivating our service users and ensuring they receive support with their basic needs and daily tasks. Our operations are staffed according to needs, some 24/7 all year round. You will have diverse tasks of varying nature, from user support to cleaning and administrative work. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in making a difference for our target group. You need to have a high school education, and it is meritorious if you have relevant education in the field, preferably as a nursing assistant or other healthcare education, as well as similar work experience. You should easily create trusting relationships, have good collaboration skills, and be patient. You are confident, self-aware, and able to take initiative and make decisions. Contributing to equal and dignified treatment of all and working towards a good work environment is a matter of course. Last but not least, you are a service-oriented person who is calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have computer skills. For some operations, a B driver's license is required. Employment can only be confirmed after presenting a criminal record extract.
