About this role
We are now seeking substitute staff for Labanskolan's Short-Term Home. Children and youth come to our short-term home after their daily activities (usually school and leisure). Most stay at the short-term home for one week each month, socializing with friends and staff for a meaningful leisure time.
**Job Responsibilities**
Short-term stays outside the home (short-term home) are a service according to § 9, item 6 of the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). As a residential support worker/assistant at Labanskolan's short-term home, you will support, motivate, and stimulate the children's/youths' own ability to perform daily life activities, as well as create conditions for an active and meaningful life. You will work based on the implementation plan that we establish together with the child/youth according to the assignment we have received from the municipality. This may involve social support, structural support, assistance with communication, dressing and undressing, toilet visits, transfers, showering, cooking, feeding, making beds, cleaning, washing clothes, and much more individualized support. Support based on the child's/youth's needs during outings and outdoor activities will also occur. You will also work with other documentation and participate in collaboration, operational, and workplace meetings. At Labanskolan, each child/youth has contact persons, and each residential support worker/assistant has a specific responsibility for one or more children/youths. Contact with guardians and other networks is an important aspect of the work.
The position involves work on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for candidates who have a degree from the Health and Care Program, the Child and Leisure Program, support assistant training, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Post-secondary education in the field of disabilities also qualifies you to apply for a substitute position with us. We also require a few years of documented work experience in the field. It should come naturally to you to work with a low-arousal approach, to meet children and youth with challenging behavior, and to use alternative communication as support. Since we go on outings in our minibus, it is an advantage if you have a valid driver's license (category B).
We seek individuals who choose to apply for a job with us because they want to work with our children and youth, and who always prioritize their best interests. You collaborate well with your colleagues, are professional, and take the initiative to contribute to the organization with your skills and experiences. Additionally, it is important that you are attentive, engaged, and value our operations.
If you are hired at the short-term home, you will need to sign a confidentiality agreement as you will be working with personal information about the children/youth. You will also need to present and submit an extract from the police criminal record.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. The selection process will be ongoing, so please submit your application today!
