The mission of the Substitute Agency is to recruit and provide hourly staff from 1 day up to 2 months and 29 days for the educational activities of Västerås municipality. Through us, you have the opportunity to be booked for both longer and shorter assignments, with a minimum booking of three hours. Everything depends on the needs of the operations and how much you demonstrate your availability to work. As a substitute with us, you will have the opportunity to work in various settings and be matched with assignments based on your area of expertise. We supply all educational activities in Västerås municipality (preschool, primary school/adapted primary school, and upper secondary school) with substitutes.

Your Responsibilities
As a substitute, you can work within preschool, preschool class, after-school care, primary school grades 1-9, and upper secondary school.
In your role as a substitute in preschool, you will participate in most daily tasks that occur within the operations, such as gatherings, educational meals, planned activities, singing and storytelling sessions, and a lot of outdoor activities. As a substitute in preschool, you will also have practical tasks such as washing dishes, wiping tables, and preparing and cleaning up after meals. In this role, it is important to focus on working according to the needs of the operations and to be flexible in meeting these needs.
In preschool class/after-school care - grades 1-9 and upper secondary school, you may work as a resource in the classroom for one or more students. You should also be prepared to be booked as a resource in adapted primary school and in our special education groups. Here, you will work to support and motivate children and students with intellectual disabilities in their learning and social interactions.
Your Qualifications
Requirements for one of the following:
• Vocational qualification from the upper secondary program in Child and Leisure or equivalent completed studies in adult education in Child and Leisure according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's criteria of at least 1,300 credits.
• Approved Swedish upper secondary education or other education equivalent to Swedish upper secondary education, combined with previous experience in educational work or other work with children/young adults in need of support that the employer deems relevant.
If you have qualifications such as teaching assistant, educational assistant, or resource educator, we consider this an advantage for the position. We view previous experience in preschool/school/adapted education positively. Great emphasis is placed on your personal suitability for the assignment. You have the ability to engage with children of all ages, motivate them in their learning, create understanding, and take initiative. You are flexible and enjoy collaborating, but you also have no problem working independently. In stressful situations, you remain calm and always strive for high quality in your work and interactions with children/students. To function in the role of a substitute, you need to be able to adapt to the varying routines of different workplaces. You must be at least 18 years old. You speak and write Swedish fluently. This is essential as you play an important role in supporting children in their language and communication development and ensuring that they can use language in a rich and nuanced way. You will be matched with assignments based on your area of expertise and can be booked at workplaces both centrally in Västerås and in rural areas. Working hours may vary, and bookings at short notice may occur, so it is an advantage if you are based in Västerås.
