Urban Development Process is responsible for developing and safeguarding the living environment in Nacka by promoting good construction, effective communications, and a healthy environment.
As an employee within the areas of planning, land development, building permits, land surveying, and environment, you will work to realize our visions for current and future generations.
We are seeking a supervision case officer who can and wants to contribute to the development of one of Sweden's most expansive municipalities – do you want to be part of it?
The group currently consists of 28 employees responsible for handling building permits, preliminary decisions, notification cases, and supervision cases. We are now looking for someone who wants to manage supervision notifications according to the Planning and Building Act, Planning and Building Ordinance, and the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning regulations. Here are opportunities for those who want an exciting and varied work in construction and urban development and contribute with commitment and innovative thinking.
Your Assignment
You will handle supervision notifications such as unauthorized construction, unkempt properties, and traffic-hazardous vegetation, driving these from notification to closure. The case management includes investigation, communication, and decision-making. You will also draft proposed decisions for the Environment and Urban Planning Committee and prepare and present cases for politicians. In the role of supervision case officer, you will collaborate with colleagues within the group, supporting each other throughout the case process.
Are You This Person?
You appreciate a workplace with varied tasks and extensive customer contact.
We primarily seek someone with several years of experience as a supervision case officer, alternatively another equivalent position, and who is familiar with working in a politically governed organization. Experience in legal work and knowledge of the Planning and Building Act is preferred.
Your Experience
- Experience with official authority
- Experience working with the Planning and Building Act, Planning and Building Ordinance, National Board of Housing regulations, Administrative Procedure Act, and Penalty Act
- Relevant academic education in urban development, legal studies, law, or another suitable background
- Driver's license (Class B) is required
Personal Qualities
We place great emphasis on personal suitability and seek someone who is service-oriented and pedagogical, with an ability to explain rules and decisions clearly and comprehensibly. You are structured, responsible, and have good judgment while being confident in your official role. You work independently and take initiative to drive your work forward but also enjoy collaboration and contributing to a positive work climate within the team.
To succeed in the work, you need excellent Swedish communication skills, both verbal and written. The job involves extensive customer contact, so you must have high integrity, empathy, and strong communication abilities.
You will also closely collaborate with group manager, unit manager, and other case officers in the Building Permit Unit.
The Building Permit Unit consists of three groups: permit processing, service and development, and supervision and implementation. You will be part of a supervision team with two other full-time supervision case officers in the supervision and implementation group. The group also includes building inspectors and housing adaptation case officers.
