**Description**
The Coast Guard's IT department is located in Karlskrona, Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.
The department is responsible for the development and operation of the systems used by the Coast Guard and provides support to both the operational and administrative parts of the organization.
The IT department strives for continuous development to meet a rapidly changing environment. This occurs in a complex IT landscape with high demands for security and availability.
We are divided into four units: one for client & support, one for IT infrastructure, one for IT security, and one for application development & IT support. Within the application development & IT support unit, we are now seeking a Test Lead/Tester.
**Responsibilities**
The role of Test Lead/Testers involves working with test management and testing for the Coast Guard's most central and important operational systems, Sjöbasis and KIBS (Coast Guard's Information and Decision Support System).
These systems are used within the operational activities where Sjöbasis is our system for maritime surveillance. Here, we gather a civil maritime situational picture with maritime information focused on Sweden's territorial waters and economic zone.
KIBS is used, for example, during various types of inspections and environmental operations and serves as support for the Coast Guard's command center.
As a Tester and Test Lead, you will work closely with system developers as part of the development team. You will conduct manual tests to ensure that the system's functionality, availability, and security are met.
The role includes creating test plans, test specifications, test documentation, and continuously developing and improving the testing process to enhance quality and security in the systems.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for candidates who have:
- An academic background in computer engineering, systems science, software development, or other education and/or experience deemed equivalent by the Coast Guard.
- Proficient knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Several years of experience working with testing and test management.
You also possess very good knowledge of and experience with:
- Manual testing.
- Planning and structuring of testing.
- Testing frameworks and tools.
Experience with and having worked on:
- Automated testing and test automation.
- Mobile applications.
- Agile working methodologies is an advantage.
As a Tester/Test Lead at the Coast Guard, you need to have the ability to gain a holistic view with a good understanding of IT's role in the organization—from both a purely technical perspective as well as from a user perspective. You should be analytical and have an easy time adapting to new situations.
The role involves close dialogue with others within the department and various stakeholders, which requires good communication and collaboration skills. A significant portion of the work is conducted independently, so you should also be comfortable with that, along with the demands it places on you in terms of accuracy and structure.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities and abilities.
**Conditions**
The position is permanent with an initial probationary period. Start date is according to agreement.
Swedish citizenship, a driver's license for passenger cars, a drug test, and a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act are required for employment.
The Coast Guard participates in overseas assignments and international missions. Therefore, the position includes an obligation to serve abroad when required for the operation.
In the case of permanent employment, there is also an obligation to be assigned to military service.
