Your mission
You will be applying for a position within our Hosting Platform, where we offer a challenging and varied role with great opportunities for personal development and numerous contacts within the organization. Currently, the Hosting Platform operates a traditional on-premise Enterprise server environment that is responsible for primarily delivering virtual servers with various functionalities to clients. We strive to implement newer technologies, such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, to create more automated and efficient solutions. The Hosting Platform currently consumes resources from other teams, such as virtualization and storage services.

- Data Platform (DPaaS)
- Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML)
- Virtualization
- Hosting
- Data Storage
Typical tasks within the Hosting Platform include:
- Designing and implementing various operating system templates
- Maintaining the server platform
- Lifecycle management of standard agents
- Troubleshooting and providing support regarding the server platform
- Automating recurring tasks
- Defining requirements and supporting the maintenance of a standardized CMDB
- Developing and enhancing new service offerings

The Västra Götalandsregionen offers flexible working arrangements based on the needs of the organization, with the possibility to combine work from our offices in Gothenburg, Borås, Mölndal, Skövde, or Vänersborg and remotely. You will have a designated workplace/location, but remote/hybrid work is part of our culture.
To succeed in this role, you need:
- Several years of professional experience in a relevant field, preferably combined with post-secondary education
- Practical knowledge and experience working with larger platforms
- Experience in automation
We are looking for someone who is curious and continuously strives to develop their skills and contribute to the team's success, as well as assisting colleagues in various matters and collaborations. The role involves many contacts within the organization, which requires excellent collaborative skills and the ability to communicate proficiently in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
The position may require security clearance, which could necessitate Swedish citizenship.
Qualifications:
- Experience in server administration on Windows platforms
- Strong documentation skills for solutions
- Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing infrastructure solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with technically skilled colleagues and peers in other professions
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for task automation
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policies
- Experience with tools for structuring and managing infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Good understanding of version control and experience with Git, including commit, merge, branch management, and pull requests
- Experience in security practices to secure server platforms, such as operating system hardening and tracking security incidents
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
- Experience with VMware for virtualization
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
