Technical Specialist in Geotechnical Engineering Would you like to contribute as a Geotechnical Engineer to one of Sweden's most exciting projects, Ostlänken? Job Responsibilities In this role, you will have an important mission as a carrier of knowledge and experience for our investment projects. Your work involves close collaboration with other project members and technical areas, working together in different project stages to develop the best solutions regarding technical aspects, environment, life cycle cost, and societal benefits. Primarily, you will work on the Ostlänken project focusing on construction documentation and production, but you may also work on various investment projects. You are an expert in your specialist area and support projects by reviewing technical solutions, project monitoring, and advising project management and contractors. You will be involved in procurement and implementation of investment projects from early planning stages through construction and follow-up of specified requirements. As a geotechnical specialist, you'll help shape the Swedish Transport Administration's role as an active client and continue striving to be at the forefront of development and environmental monitoring. You'll also have the opportunity to work strategically on geotechnical issues. You will be part of a network of around 50 geotechnical specialists within the Swedish Transport Administration, providing excellent opportunities for skills development. The position includes visiting project offices along the Ostlänken route as needed. Qualifications As a person, you have a good ability to communicate with your surroundings and can convey your knowledge in a pedagogical manner. You are confident, unpretentious, and have strong collaboration and problem-solving skills. You see the big picture from multiple perspectives, including technology, production methods, environment, legal, and economic aspects. The position requires good analytical skills, being self-driven, and the ability to build long-term relationships both internally and externally. We are looking for someone who has: • Civil engineering degree in road and water or civil engineering with geotechnical specialization, or alternative education combined with current and relevant experience we deem equivalent • Multiple years of current and relevant experience in qualified geotechnical tasks related to road and/or railway projects • Experience in designing road and/or railway construction • Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written • Driving license Additional merits include: • Experience in contractor and/or client roles • Good knowledge of current geotechnical and Swedish infrastructure regulations • Experience with sheet pile and geotechnical construction dimensioning • Experience in construction law At the Swedish Transport Administration, we work to bring Sweden closer together.
