Our IT department team is tasked with taking comprehensive responsibility for new development, management, and support of digital tools and applications connected to intelligence service systems. The Police IT Department operates at the technical forefront by developing and modernizing IT systems, and the agency is heavily investing in strengthening the department with new specialist expertise and the latest technology to benefit employees in police operations and citizens.
Job Description
As a Technical Management Leader, you will act as an expert for our products, primarily in-house developed systems but also purchased standard products. You will work broadly in a team consisting of product owners, project managers, requirements analysts, UX designers, technical testers, developers, and several other technology specialists. The role includes supporting product owners and project managers on issues related to further development and lifecycle management, and acting as an escalation point for troubleshooting and operational problems. The role also involves close collaboration with other technical experts, primarily within the IT department's operations and infrastructure unit.
Typical Tasks:
• Maintain and manage police systems
• Development and maintenance activities of capabilities and environments, including integrations, troubleshooting, corrections, and documentation
• Proactive cooperation with target groups
• Improve existing in-house systems
• Conduct tests and ensure deliveries
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for someone who has:
• Degree in computer science, systems science, or equivalent academic degree with IT orientation, or equivalent acquired competence assessed as equivalent by the Police Authority
• Multiple years of relevant work experience in a complex IT environment, preferably as an application consultant, system administrator, or developer
• Experience with deployments and implementing changes and updates to IT systems
• Competence in Linux and experience implementing changes and updates in a Linux environment
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Swedish citizenship
Additional Merits:
• Experience working with CI/CD flow
• Competence or experience in Java, JavaScript, or similar development
• Experience with databases and logging
• Competence in container systems, preferably Docker or Kubernetes
• Network and firewall competence
