Technical Estimator / Production Engineer for an Interesting Company About the Position We are looking for someone with industrial experience who thrives in a mix of independent work and teamwork. At our client, you will work with preparations for the manufacturing of advanced components and systems. There is a wide variety of materials and manufacturing processes, most of which are produced in-house, but certain types of processes are outsourced. This entails close contact with both production as well as customers and suppliers. Our specialty is low-volume to single-piece manufacturing of highly precise components for demanding clients, primarily within the power generation and machine building industries. Responsibilities • Review inquiries and assess what is appropriate to quote based on our capabilities, while clarifying any uncertainties with the customer. • Collaborate with production and suppliers to develop production and verification methods for customer articles, including operation preparation and pricing for any external operations. The overall preparation forms the basis for the quote to the customer. • Upon order, hand over to production. Subsequently, participate in initial planning to generate an order confirmation with delivery time. • Assist production and suppliers with any technical questions. • Propose, participate in, and to some extent drive improvements within production. • Develop supporting documentation for production, including instructions, etc. • Actively contribute to knowledge transfer. Requirements • Technical high school diploma or higher. • At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry with machining. • Knowledge of CNC machines. • Proficient in reading technical drawings and various machining methods. • Basic measurement techniques. • Fundamental knowledge of materials and their properties. • Experience with an ERP system. • Self-sufficient in common digital tools, including Office, etc. Meritorious • Advanced knowledge in materials technology or measurement technology. • Monitor ERP • CNC programming • CAD CAM • Machine design • Production economics • Production planning To succeed and thrive in this role, it helps to combine curiosity and responsiveness with drive and goal orientation, as well as having an honest approach to uncertain situations where one neither exaggerates nor underestimates problems.
