HDK-Valand is now seeking a technician for the institution's 3D lab/model workshop. You will work alongside another technician within the same technical area and as part of a larger team of technicians with various specialist competencies.
The 3D lab/model workshop at HDK-Valand supports all educational programs by providing access and support for software related to 3D modeling, design, and construction, as well as making equipment available for 3D scanning, 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, and modeling tools such as band saws, column drills, vacuum formers, hot wire cutters, and kilns for industrial clay.

**Job Responsibilities**
You will, together with the workshop manager technician, provide support to students in the 3D lab/model workshop with associated machines and equipment. The tasks will be divided into technical work, pedagogical work, and supportive work.
Technical work involves the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment, ensuring that the workshop's working environment maintains a high standard by supporting the awareness and adherence to order and safety regulations among users of the workshop.
Pedagogical work involves instructing students in the use of software and maintenance of machines and equipment, and in consultation with the workshop manager technician and course responsible teachers, guiding students in their work with equipment and materials in accordance with applicable safety regulations.
Supportive work includes, for example, purchasing materials for the workshop and selling materials to students.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
- Technical knowledge and skill in operating and guiding the commissioning of CNC, 3D printers, laser cutters, and 3D scanners.
- Experience and skill in using and supporting 3D software, primarily Rhino and Blender, in the flow between the digital and the material.
- Good knowledge and experience in handling Adobe Illustrator.
- Ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish as well as English.
**Meritorious**
- Experience in clay modeling, mold making, and casting for model creation is an advantage.
- Completed bachelor's degree in design or art is desirable.
- Teaching experience and experience in student support or equivalent is meritorious.
- You possess good collaboration skills.

The position is temporary, a special fixed-term employment of 40% of full-time for 11 months, based at HDK-Valand, Gothenburg. Start date is February 1, 2026, or by agreement.
