Uppsala University consists of several campus areas, each with its own administration that supports the operations.
Campus Gamla Torget is located in the heart of Uppsala and includes several buildings with both teaching and research environments. Within the area, there are six units, including departments, institutes, and libraries.
The campus area houses approximately 600 employees; teachers, researchers, technical and administrative staff, as well as around 3,000 students. The administration at Campus Gamla Torget currently consists of nine staff members who work together to create a well-functioning and pleasant work and study environment.

Job Responsibilities
As a technician, you will have a varied workday with many different points of contact; students, staff, and external guests. The role includes both practical and administrative tasks, and you will work closely with several functions within the campus in both Swedish and English.
You will be responsible for ensuring that teaching rooms, common areas, and workplaces function well and are pleasant. Examples of job tasks include:
- Supervision, maintenance, and basic upkeep of premises, furniture, and equipment
- Handling of fault reports and simple changes to facilities
- Planning and execution of relocations
- Reception services, e.g., issuing campus cards, keys, and AV equipment, as well as receiving deliveries
- Room booking and administrative tasks related to this
Job tasks may change in line with the development of the campus, and work during evenings and weekends may occur as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant technical education at least at the high school level, or equivalent competence deemed comparable by the employer
- Has good technical understanding and experience using tools and machinery
- Can express themselves well in spoken and written Swedish and English
- Is quick to adapt to new digital systems, programs, and routines
- Is cooperative and enjoys working with different people
You are service-oriented, solution-focused, and flexible. You enjoy varied tasks and can easily adapt to new situations. The role requires initiative, curiosity, and pedagogical skills – to best support and assist users and students.
Desirable/meritorious qualifications
- Experience in reception work
- Experience in ordering furniture and other office supplies
- Knowledge of Uppsala University and its operations

About the Employment
