About the Assignment
We are seeking a consultant to work as a cross-disciplinary design management leader within the Mälarbanan Program – one of Trafikverket's largest infrastructure projects. The program encompasses the expansion of the railway between Tomteboda and Kalhäll from two to four tracks. The work includes new tunnels through Sundbyberg and Solna, three new stations, and extensive ground, construction, and installation work.
About the Role
As a cross-disciplinary design management leader, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating design work across multiple technical disciplines and ensuring that deliveries meet Trafikverket's requirements for time, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
You will be part of the client's project organization in Sundbyberg and work closely with project managers, technical specialists, and external design consultants in developing tender documentation for upcoming contracts.
The consultant shall fulfill the following competency requirements:
• Participate in bid evaluation and startup of design consultancy
• Lead, coordinate, and follow up on design consultant work
• Contribute to efficient working methods and routines between client and consultant
• Ensure deliveries meet correct quality, time, and cost-effectiveness
• Participate in contract follow-up regarding requirements, added value, bonuses, and penalties
• Lead and coordinate design work across multiple technical disciplines (construction, geotechnical, road/ground, installations, BEST, etc.)
• Represent the client in the building structures technical area
• Review and approve document and model deliveries
• Ensure deliveries meet digital project management requirements (BIM)
• Participate in contract, economic, technical, and risk meetings
• Contribute to requirements management, work environment, time, calculation, and forecast
• Participate in information meetings and collaboration with authorities and external parties
• Identify, analyze, and manage risks
• Contribute to knowledge transfer to Trafikverket's own employees
Mandatory Requirements
The consultant must meet the following competency requirements:
• University/college education equivalent to a Swedish civil engineering degree with relevant specialization or equivalent education and experience that can be deemed equivalent by Trafikverket
• At least 5 years of experience as a design management leader in large infrastructure projects with multiple technical disciplines (implementation > 1 billion SEK) within the past 8 years. As a design management leader, work tasks should primarily have been coordinating different technical disciplines and design resources to achieve the best technical and economic solution
• At least 3 years of experience as a design management leader in at least 1 infrastructure project regarding bridges or tunnels
• At least 3 years of experience as a designer developing construction documents including technical descriptions
• Documented experience in construction work environment coordination as BAS-P in at least 1 large design assignment and possess a training certificate as BAS-P. The training certificate must not be older than five years from the final tender date. The training certificate requirement applies throughout the contract period. A large design assignment means an assignment over 50 million SEK
• Knowledge of relevant standard contracts such as AB, ABK, ABT
• Documented good knowledge of AMA
• Good skills in Swedish and English languages, both spoken and written
Assignment Information
The contract is valid from the time the contract enters into force until 2027-01-31.
Option: The client has a unilateral opportunity to extend the contract with existing contract terms for up to an additional 7 years, with extension periods of 1 or 2 years at a time.
Stationing location for the resource consultant is Sundbyberg. This assignment requires physical presence at Trafikverket's office 5 days per week.
Scope: Estimated utilization for the assignment is 80-100% of annual working time, meaning 1,700 hours.
