About this role

Västerås City has removed the requirement for a cover letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will play an important role in our selection work. Do you thrive in a guiding role and enjoy driving development? We are now seeking a temporary team leader for our children's team who has an interest in leadership and excels at creating engagement. The position is a fixed-term employment for 9-12 months. Your Responsibilities As a team leader, you provide consultative and secure support for social workers in their daily work. You distribute tasks and also support and guide in individual cases. By ensuring high quality in interactions, legal security, and accessibility, you contribute to the development of the operations and make a difference for those we are here to support. You lead and develop the team both as a group and in terms of work methods. Together with the quality group, you develop and implement routines that strengthen and enhance the team's case handling. Collaboration, both internally and externally, is an important part of your role, and you participate in various collaboration forums. You work closely with three other team leaders, and together with them and the unit manager, you form the leadership team for the unit. Your Qualifications You have a degree in social work and experience in handling child cases in all aspects—from preliminary assessments to follow-ups. You possess good knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and you are trained in BBIC and accustomed to working according to this method. Previous experience related to domestic violence and/or honor-related violence, as well as working based on LBSB, is considered a plus. It is also advantageous if you have experience in a supervisory role. You enjoy motivating and guiding others and easily create engagement and participation. We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility, driving processes forward, and has the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work in a structured and efficient manner. Collaboration with the team and other partners is a natural part of your work, and you meet others with respect, warmth, and attentiveness. Since travel may be required for the position, it is a plus if you have a valid driver's license (category B). Every fourth week, you need to be prepared to stay after working hours if an urgent matter arises that cannot be completed during the workday. A schedule for this will be arranged with your fellow team leaders. We warmly welcome your application! We Offer At the VIR unit, knowledgeable and dedicated social workers and team leaders work with all aspects related to domestic violence. We work with victims, perpetrators, and children in these relationships, as well as with honor-related and prostitution issues. From a holistic perspective, we continuously develop our work methods and approaches to support these important target groups. Our goal is for everyone seeking our help, after completing their intervention, to be able to live an independent life free from violence. The unit is housed under one roof and is divided into two teams: a children's team and an adult team. We are incredibly proud of how we have built our unit with a cutting-edge work approach. We are a humble group that works closely together and enriches each other in various ways. We enjoy each other's company, have a strong sense of community, and also have fun together. We believe in trust and freedom under responsibility. This means that you plan your workday yourself, have flexible hours, and the opportunity to work remotely part of the time.
