About this role

Do you love food and are ready for a career where people are at the center? At City Gross, everything we do is about helping and inspiring our customers to enjoy a better everyday life. Our heart beats a little faster for fresh produce, and we believe in people. We believe we become better when we have different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you're showcasing freshly harvested vegetables, cutting the perfect piece of meat, ensuring shelves are always well-stocked, or creating campaigns that meet our customers' needs, we're all here for one reason: to create an amazing customer experience. About the Job Position: Permanent employment, 18 hours per week, probationary period applies. Start Date: December 1, 2025, or by agreement. Work Hours: Early morning, daytime, late evening, and weekends are a natural part of the work. We welcome applicants of all ages, but due to the Work Environment Act, you need to be at least 18 years old to work in the front of the store. You'll Put the Final Touch on Customer Experience You have the chance to make the last impression on our customers, so you have an important mission to make the customer experience smooth and pleasant. This might mean a friendly smile, an unexpected question, or a helpful attitude, so the customer finds their way around the store. You should ensure the customer leaves satisfied - preferably with an extra item in their bag and a good feeling! What Will You Do? Every day brings new encounters and challenges, but some of your main tasks are: • Ensuring daily operations in the checkout line and front of store function by leading and distributing work. • Being a role model in customer interactions and inspiring colleagues to ensure customers leave the store feeling they've had a world-class customer experience. • Working with the Sales Manager to plan, follow up, and develop work in the department. • Coordinating resources and ensuring competencies are used efficiently to achieve set goals and manage daily staffing planning. • Working in the checkout and front of store, including lottery sales and service matters. • Collaborating with colleagues throughout the store – we are a team and help where needed! You will report to the Checkout Sales Manager who has personnel responsibility for the department. Who Are You? You are a natural problem-solver who enjoys a dynamic environment. A friendly hello and a desire to inspire and develop others are obvious to you. Do you have a great interest in food and selling goods? Fantastic! Do you have previous leadership experience? Even better! We believe you: • Have a high school education and are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since our customers speak more languages, it's fantastic if you do too. • Have a couple of years of previous experience working in a store in the Checkout/Front of Store area. • Have previous experience working with ATG and Svenska Spel. • Previous experience in leadership, store economics, and cash reconciliation is meritorious. • Love meeting customers and believe service should be genuine and engaging. What Do You Get? • Secure terms – We have collective agreements with Handels and Unionen. • Valuable food bag – You get staff discounts on everything from luxurious weekend dinners to quick weekday lifesavers. • Parental leave with extra security - we offer enhanced parental pay according to collective agreement so you can enjoy your new family member a little extra. • Healthier and more energetic body and mind – We care about your health and offer wellness contributions so you can stay active in the way that suits you best. • Real career opportunities – With us, there's a chance to grow! Many of our store managers started exactly where you are now. Does this sound like something for you? Submit your application – we look forward to meeting you!
