Do you love food and are you ready for a career where people are at the center? At City Gross, everything we do is about helping and inspiring our customers to enjoy a better everyday life. Our heart beats a little extra for fresh produce, and we believe in people. We believe we become better when we have diverse backgrounds and experiences. Whether you are showcasing freshly harvested vegetables, cutting the perfect piece of meat, ensuring the shelves are always well-stocked, or running promotions that meet our customers' needs, everyone here has one reason: to create an exceptional customer experience.
About the job
Position: Permanent full-time employment, with a probationary period.
Start date: By agreement.
Working hours: Early mornings, late evenings, and weekends are a natural part of the job.
We welcome applicants of all ages, but due to the Work Environment Act, you must be at least 18 years old to work in our meat department.
You put the finishing touch on the customer experience
You have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our customers' visits, and therefore you have an important mission to make the customer experience smooth and pleasant. This can involve a friendly smile, an unexpected question, or a helpful attitude to guide the customer in the store. You should ensure that the customer leaves satisfied – ideally with an extra item in their bag and a good feeling!
What will you do?
Every day brings new encounters and challenges, but some of your main tasks include:
• Ensuring that daily operations run smoothly by leading and distributing work.
• Being a role model in customer interactions and inspiring colleagues so that our customers leave the store feeling they have experienced world-class service.
• Together with the Sales Manager, being responsible for planning, placing orders, following up, and developing work in the department.
• Working to coordinate resources and ensure that skills are used effectively to achieve set goals.
• Working with the cutting of fresh Swedish meat, prepared in-store.
• Contributing to providing our customers with a fresh and inviting meat and deli department.
• Collaborating with colleagues throughout the store – we are a team and help where needed!
You will report to the Fresh Produce Sales Manager, who has personnel responsibility for the department.
Who are you?
You are a natural problem solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment. A friendly greeting and a desire to inspire and develop others is second nature to you. Do you have a strong interest in really good meat and selling products? Great! Do you have previous leadership experience – even better!
We believe that you:
• Have a high school education and are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since our customers speak multiple languages, it’s fantastic if you do too.
• Have a couple of years of previous experience in the meat/cutting field.
• Previous experience in leadership, store economics, and sales is an advantage.
• Previous training or a journeyman/master certificate in meat is an advantage.
• Love meeting customers and believe that service should be genuine and engaging.
What do you get?
• Secure conditions – We have collective agreements with Handels and Unionen.
• Affordable meal packages – You receive staff discounts on everything from luxurious weekend dinners to quick weekday saviors.
• Parental leave with extra security - we offer enhanced parental benefits according to collective agreements so you can enjoy your new family member a little more.
• A healthier and more energetic body and mind – We care about your health and offer wellness grants, so you can stay active in the way that suits you best.
• Real career opportunities – There is a chance to grow with us! Many of our store managers started right where you are now.
