About this role
Specialist Dental Care Orofacial Medicine Seminar and Mobile Clinic in Uppsala
Do you want to make a difference for patients with special needs?
We are seeking a trained, experienced dental hygienist for service at the Public Dental Care Mobile Clinic in Uppsala.
Our Operation
The Public Dental Care Mobile Clinic aims to increase accessibility to dental care for those who might otherwise find it difficult to visit a traditional dental clinic. This could include patients in special housing, ordinary housing, or group homes.
The Mobile Clinic is part of Region Uppsala's work to promote health, prevent disease, and reduce oral health disparities between different societal groups. By offering dental care directly where patients are located, we contribute to more equitable dental health across the region.
We share premises with the Specialist Dental Care Orofacial Medicine Seminar in an attractive area, approximately 2 km from Uppsala Central Station, ensuring good commuting possibilities.
Our Team and Environment
We comprise a team of 34 employees. We have shared therapy and clinic meetings, collaboration, and other workplace-related activities. This provides excellent opportunities for knowledge exchange with experienced colleagues.
At Orofacial Medicine, we treat patients with special needs, medical conditions, intellectual disabilities, etc. We also conduct oral medical assessments and treatments, dento-alveolar surgery, and infection investigations from healthcare providers. The clinic also conducts research in oral cancer and several development areas.
Your Assignment
We are seeking a dental hygienist who desires varied work with excellent development opportunities. You should have an interest and commitment to medical and elderly dental care. Good experience in general dentistry is required, with experience in medical and/or mobile dental care being advantageous.
As a person, you are engaged, meticulous, and patient-focused. We will place significant emphasis on personal suitability.
Your responsibilities include providing dental care to elderly and disabled individuals, either in care facilities or their own homes. Tasks also involve outreach activities and educating nursing home staff about oral health and dental care.
For internal candidates, the possibility of combining this position with current clinic work can be discussed.
We Offer
We aim to create conditions for employee well-being, offering a 3,000 SEK annual wellness allowance. We value our employees and provide a workplace where professional development and career opportunities are highly appreciated. Public Dental Care offers a comprehensive annual training program. Region Uppsala has one of Sweden's best collective agreements, ensuring economic security and employee care.
