Your Future Role
As a train host on SJ Norrland Train, you will primarily work on our popular trains. In this role, you are expected to quickly absorb new information, monitor onboard safety, and adapt to changing directives to always deliver the best possible service and security.
You will perform safety checks before departure and handle potential emergency situations. You will verify ticket validity and assist with connections during both normal operations and disruptions. On some departures, you will be responsible for sales in our bistro or provide personalized service to first-class passengers.
The role involves:
• Delivering world-class service to SJ passengers and creating an excellent travel experience onboard
• Ensuring optimal train operations
• Managing sales, display stands, and restocking goods in the bistro
• Maintaining cleanliness and order onboard
• Monitoring safety and adhering to railway safety regulations and SJ's internal guidelines
For our Norrland Trains, you will travel long distances, which means work can start early in the morning and you may be away for several days at a time.

This job is for those who want a practical role with responsibility, where your technical skills, service orientation, and problem-solving abilities will be valuable.
We're seeking candidates who:
• Are at least 20 years old at the start of employment (required for alcohol service in the train bistro)
• Have a complete high school education or work experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Are technology-interested and experienced with digital tools
• Speak and write Swedish fluently and have good English skills. Additional language skills are a plus
• Meet EU health requirements for railway personnel, which is essential for this safety-critical role
