Train Technician

You will be part of a team with competent and engaged colleagues who will help you integrate into the work in the best possible way. The team consists of technicians distributed across shift-working teams. Your main task is to, together with your colleagues, perform preventive maintenance and corrective troubleshooting. The role also includes assessing the traffic safety condition of vehicles and following instructions for maintenance and commissioning. The job includes: • Performing maintenance, fault correction, and modifications on vehicles. • Following instructions and processes in existing maintenance systems. • Registering and documenting relevant information in the systems. • Troubleshooting and correcting electrical faults on vehicles, if necessary with the support of troubleshooters. • Ensuring that work complies with current policies for environment, health, safety, and quality. Responsibilities To succeed as a train technician, you need to have strong technical competence and an eye for detail. We believe you are: • Structured and enjoy working according to clear processes and deadlines. • Analytical and enjoy performing technical troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems. • Thorough and have a high sense of responsibility, as the work directly impacts passenger safety. • Have good communication and collaboration skills, as you work closely with other technicians and depot staff. Qualifications We highly value passion and attitude. We would like you to have: • Education or experience (or alternatively a strong interest) in maintenance of heavy machinery or vehicles. • Experience or understanding of technical work in industries such as aviation, industry, automotive, or similar. You have handled repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital control systems. • Familiarity with replacing electrical and mechanical components using drawings and instructions. • Good knowledge of electrical systems is a major plus. • Ability to handle complex troubleshooting and problem-solving is meritorious. • Knowledge of the rail industry is a bonus. • Good language skills in Swedish and English. • A driver's license is desirable as the position may involve travel between different depots. Additional Information Since the work tasks are of great importance to traffic safety, an approved medical health examination is required before any employment can begin. The work involves shift work, including operation during major holidays, and may potentially include night shifts in the long term. Are you ready for the challenge?
