About the Role

The Police IT Department is continuously developing new technology to address the evolution of crime in society. As a software developer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to safety by creating systems for police operations. With around 1,200 employees, we are responsible for IT support for 40,000 staff members, and we are now looking for developers for our office in Stockholm. Job Description

Are you a software developer with solid and up-to-date experience in Java and looking for an exciting and socially important challenge that makes Sweden and Europe safer? Our operations are responsible for ensuring that police international collaborations have the best possible IT support in their work to prevent, manage, and combat serious organized crime with international links, as well as several information exchange systems that are essential hubs in the international fight against serious crime.

We are facing an exciting and eventful time with a lot of new development involving cutting-edge technology components.

Our teams are responsible for the entire product life cycle. A typical workday could involve anything from developing new applications, maintaining complex systems, or solving critical security issues. You will work closely with end-users in the police operation and other IT groups to translate knowledge into technical solutions that support the police in their mission. Requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least 3–5 years of current and relevant work experience in software development focusing on Java and TypeScript/JS
  • Education in IT or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Police Authority
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Swedish citizenship

We consider it beneficial if you also have experience with:

  • gRPC
  • Event streams, UX, GUI design
  • Experience in building APIs according to “best practice”
  • Spring Boot
  • MySQL, IBM MQ JMS
  • Linux, Docker and/or Kubernetes, GitOps, CI/CD pipeline on Jenkins
