About this role

About the Position With experience working in a structured and segmented IT environment, and familiar with integrating, managing, and operating purchased systems, you are the one who makes technology work in everyday operations. You are an enabler who creates conditions for the organization to achieve its goals. As a system integrator, your main tasks will involve managing and developing Sitevision at SMHI, the platform used for both intranet and smhi.se, as well as managing and developing the central document management system Alfresco. The work will be located in the Digital Workplace unit. The unit is responsible for developing and managing the business support systems used by all SMHI employees. The work is distributed across different management groups responsible for system clusters. In your work, you may also support other systems under the unit's responsibility, such as e-learning platforms and other business support systems. The unit primarily works with externally developed systems. This means we need expertise that can take an externally developed system and integrate it into SMHI's IT environment. This applies both from a technical operations perspective, including development, test, and production environments, RPM packaging, enhanced security thinking, and from a user perspective. We work to create a healthy digital work environment across the systems we manage. The Digital Workplace aims to offer tools that contribute to an efficient and secure digital workplace by putting SMHI employees at the center. We listen to the needs of our operations and monitor the external environment to find appropriate solutions that fit our IT environment and facilitate SMHI's mission. The unit currently consists of 10-12 people, with the majority working as system managers and technical system managers. All employees are located at the Norrköping office. Your Profile We are seeking someone with post-secondary education in the field or other education/experience that SMHI deems equivalent. You have several years of experience and competence in integrating, managing, and operating purchased systems on Linux platforms. You have experience working in a structured and segmented IT environment. You speak and write Swedish fluently and have excellent English skills in both speech and writing. We consider the following areas as meritorious: • CMS, e.g., Sitevision or WordPress • Automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Foreman • System and software components: Node.js, Tomcat, Varnish, Windows integrations, RPM packaging • Databases: PostgreSQL or Cassandra • Document management, e.g., Alfresco • Experience in the public sector and understanding of LOU (Public Procurement Act) • Agile working methods • Digital workplace services: Exchange, network, authentication, IT infrastructure • Certifications/licenses in automation and Linux Your personal abilities and characteristics are important for thriving in the system integrator role. You have a broader perspective on issues and see how the systems you are responsible for fit into the overall picture. You'll need to demonstrate strong collaborative skills to achieve complete results. As a person, you are meticulous and highly aware of goals, maintaining high-quality deliveries. You analyze and work systematically and solution-oriented. Your ability to balance needs, time, and priorities together with management, the unit, and the IT department will be of great help in your work. We and our systems exist to support the operations, with our mission including enabling our colleagues' daily work. Working at SMHI Working at SMHI is not like working at just any workplace.
