**IT Department**
The primary task of the IT department is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority. The IT department plays a crucial role in crime prevention and law enforcement efforts, and IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining police operations and enhancing the quality of police work. The IT department develops and modernizes the police's IT systems, and the authority invests significantly in strengthening the department with new specialist expertise and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.
**IT – Operations and Infrastructure Management**
Operations and Infrastructure is responsible for the management, development projects, and lifecycle management of the police's IT infrastructure in the areas of data and telephony. Operations and Infrastructure also coordinates the deployment of the Police Authority's IT systems, release management, and is responsible for preparedness and continuity planning, IT incidents, IT problems, and changes.
We are now looking for a driven and flexible system administrator to join our team within the Specialist Support Operations at the Police Authority's IT department. Our group within the IT department works with the Police Authority's technical capabilities that contribute to the fight against serious organized crime and support the specialist operations within the authority.
Our office is centrally located in Kungsholmen, Stockholm.
**Job Description**
Our team develops and maintains systems used to detect and prevent serious crimes. As a system administrator with us, you will both maintain existing technical solutions and participate in developing new solutions.
You will be responsible for ensuring operations, which includes system maintenance and configuration, such as installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software, and evaluation of new technology.
We work closely with the operational police activities, where in your role you will help understand the needs and challenges of the police officers and translate these into technical solutions.
Your daily tasks may include:
- Daily operations within the group's specialist areas
- Installation, configuration, and ongoing security work
- Automation/standardization within the area
- Proactive maintenance, lifecycle management
- Optimization, troubleshooting, and fault resolution
- Participation in the work with new technical solutions
- Documentation, environmental monitoring, and involvement in the development of new working methods and services within the technical areas
- Technical needs analysis
- System architecture and implementation of new platforms
- Creation of documentation
- Modernization of existing technical solutions
**Qualifications**
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Relevant post-secondary education in IT, for example, with a focus that has provided you with good knowledge of IT infrastructure.
- At least 3 years of experience working within network infrastructure
- Experience in managing certificates, IP addressing, and firewall rules
- Experience in operating virtual servers
- Experience working with Windows servers
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.
- Swedish citizenship
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Experience working with large and complex IT environments
- Experience in large organizations or authorities, with high demands on operational and information security
- Experience leading the implementation of new systems
- Experience in researching information and creating documentation for colleagues to use.

To succeed in this role, you should be comfortable processing a sometimes large amount of incoming information. Building a comprehensive picture, breaking down large tasks into smaller parts, and contributing to structured work in the case management system are cornerstones of the daily work.
