Welder for Collision Damage – Your Next Challenge in Västerås! Are you a welder who thrives on challenges? Alstom is now seeking a new colleague who will work on repairing damaged and collision-damaged vehicles in a dynamic and exciting environment. Your Future Role: You will report to Niclas Bålefalk (Production Leader) and work together with a dedicated and competent team. The workshop group consists of approximately 12 people, a mix of welders/smiths and modification technicians (assemblers). You will receive excellent support from colleagues in other functions such as engineering, Indus, quality, and procurement. In this role, you will become an important part of the problem-solving process, and we are seeking someone with a passion for finding effective solutions. Your creativity and initiative are crucial to our daily work. The job includes, among other tasks: • Replacing and aligning body parts • Welding, gluing, and riveting • Dismantling and assembling vehicles You will work with both black and stainless steel as well as aluminum. We prefer candidates with several years of welding experience and the ability to read blueprints. All About You: We value passion and attitude over experience. We do not expect you to have all skills, but we believe the following knowledge will help you succeed and grow in this role: • Relevant education or experience in welding • Previous work with welding and vehicle repair or similar industries • Good skills in Black MAG (135 2-12mm) and Stainless MAG (135 2-12mm) to ensure high quality and work efficiency • Knowledge of blueprint reading and technical specifications related to welding • Worked with welding requiring non-destructive testing, such as Visual Inspection, Penetrant, or Magnetic Particle • Fluent in Swedish and good English skills Meritorious: • Welding certification • Alignment after welding • Alu MIG (131 2-12mm), TIG (141), and Stick Welding (111) • Heat straightening/cold straightening of dents We value the following personal characteristics: • Creative: Ability to think outside the box, helping us find new and innovative solutions to welding-related problems. • Solution-oriented: Quickly identify welding challenges and address them efficiently, which is crucial to keeping our projects on track. • Collaborative: A non-prestigious approach that elevates team cooperation and creates a positive work environment where we achieve common goals.
