Civitas Assistans was founded to offer something unique in personal assistance in Dalarna: a warm, familiar, and simultaneously professional alternative. Those of us working here have extensive experience with assistance both privately and professionally. As a personal assistant with us, you will be a key person in someone's life. I'm looking for someone who wants to work as my personal assistant and simultaneously become my superhero and friend! Right now, I'm seeking someone who wants a smaller position and work extra as needed.
Who am I? I'm a happy and charming 14-year-old boy with a large dose of curiosity about both the world around me and the people in it. I live in Sundborn with my family and our cat, and I attend school in Falun.
My disabilities include cerebral palsy, deaf-blindness, and an intellectual disability that means I always need you by my side to live life and feel secure. As my assistant, you are vital for both me and my family!
My deaf-blindness means I have a great need for help communicating, understanding and being understood, and exploring the world in different ways. I love life and want to participate and be involved!
Beyond communication, I need help with things like motor skills training, personal hygiene, and eating and drinking.
The assistants working with me today are a lovely team who all enhance my daily life in different ways. Now I'm seeking someone who is confident, proactive, inventive, responsible, and has a large dose of patience. I also hope you, like me, enjoy both mischief, speed and excitement as much as calmer moments. I enjoy everything from roller coasters to lounging on the sofa! I take it for granted that you are engaged and feel joy in contributing to my development!
Experience with sign language and tactile communication is good but not required, as long as you are curious and willing to learn my "secret language"...
I need assistance around the clock, so with me you'll work day, evening, and awake night shifts, weekdays and weekends.
For this position, you must:
• Have good Swedish skills, both spoken and written
• Be a non-smoker
• Have a B driver's license and access to a car for transportation to and from work
• Be able to tolerate cats, as there is a cat in the family
It is also meritorious if you have:
• Experience as a personal assistant
• Experience with sign language/tactile communication
